Oats and Nut Bars
A different version of the traditional sukhdi “Gorpapdi”.
Ingredients:
-
1 cup oats flour
-
½ cup almonds (coarsely ground)
-
1 stick (4 ounce) unsalted butter, melted
-
¾ cup soft brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
Heat the oven at 350 degrees F.
You will need a 8X11 inch baking pan or something similar in size. Grease well and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add the oats flour, ground almonds and sugar. Combine well.
Now pour the warm melted butter over the flour mixture and mix well.
Spread the mixture in the baking pan. Pat firmly and evenly. Sprinkle with sesame seeds on top and pat it gently so the sesame seeds are set in the flour mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes until the dough is evenly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Take a knife or a pizza cutter and make the desired size pieces (approximately 2 inch squares). Let the pan cool completely before transferring the squares to a serving dish or a storage tin.
[Makes approximately 24 pieces]
