Almond Seera
Perfect dessert as an alternate to the traditional semolina seera!
Ingredients:
-
1 cup ground Almonds (with skin)
-
1 teaspoon ghee (clarified butter)
-
1 cup whipping cream or half and half
-
¼ cup sugar, or per taste
-
½ teaspoon ground cardamom
-
Slivered almonds
Heat the ghee in a non-stick frying pan on medium heat. Add the almond powder and roast the mixture until it becomes aromatic and golden brown for about 5-7 minutes. Now add the cold whipping cream and keep stirring until the liquid mixture solidifies and releases the ghee. At this stage, add the sugar and the mixture will turn back to liquid form. Keep stirring until the sugar is cooked thru and the mixture is solidified. The seera is done as soon as you see the ghee release again. Add the cardamon and mix well.
Transfer in a bowl and garnish with sliced almonds. Serve warm.
